GEOGRAPHY/DESCRIPTION

At the foot of the Aravis Mountains, La Clusaz is the last village in the upper valley of Thônes, where the word cluse indicates a deep gorge, from which it takes its name. Grouped around the elegant bell-tower, the village is surrounded by snowy mountain pastures, fir trees and overhung by the luminous Aravis Mountains.
A little higher up, the chalets are scattered on the sunny slopes on the side Confins or side Aravis whereas the tracks extend rather on the North slopes.
