DESCRIPTION

Perennial plant with large scaly bulb, up to 1 m tall. Orange or saffron flowers, punctuated with black to tepals up to 6 cm.

HISTORY

Lily: comes from the Latin lilium or the Celtic word li which means white.

HABITAT

Brush, meadows, cracks of the rocks, up to 2000 m of altitude.

PARTICULARITIES

Known more popularly as the "beautiful of a day" because the pretty orange lily flowers last only one day. Its flower can not fertilize itself as for example that of the lily martagon.

THREAT

This flower is protected, do not pick it !
