GEOGRAPHY/DESCRIPTION
An environment between lakes, rivers and flat valley to disorient you. An old village with solid residences labeled "Country of Art and History". Samoëns is the only French resort classified city of art and history. Dominated by the vertical walls of Criou, the village and its flower-filled houses border the Gros-Tilleul place. Planted in 1438, this beautiful lime tree adjoins the Bourneaux fountain with lobed basins and bronze beaks adorned with masks. The animation of the terraces, cafes and shops makes the surroundings of the Grenette (1858), the Castle Tower (seventeenth century) and shaded streets and squares very lively.
